Free eye screenings through the North Carolina Lions “See the 21st Century Mobile Screening Unit” (MSU) will be given in Aberdeen on Saturday, April 30, from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. in the Aberdeen Wal-Mart Parking Lot on NC HWY 15/501.
Aberdeen Lions are offering the free screenings as a community service in their efforts for early detection of vision problems. No appointment is required. This is a screening only and should not be confused with a complete exam. Based on the individual’s screening results a recommendation will be made to that individual as to when they should have a complete exam.
The MSU is a 60 foot customized trailer and truck is funded through the North Carolina Lions. All the necessary equipment to conduct the hearing and vision screenings are on the MSU.
“Lions have a high commitment to battling vision problems and preventable blindness,” said Charles Dearborn, President of the Aberdeen Lions Club. Dearborn further stated “We are also interested in talking with service-minded people interested in serving their community.”
